Year In Review: Great Urban Race

I have run two full marathons, two half marathons, and countless fun runs of shorter distances. But this race was different than just plain running to the finish line – you had to solve certain clues in order to cross the finish line.  Why not?

Great Urban Race Day: June 7th, 2008

Here’s the gist: Micah and I comprised one team, and Tera (my sis) and Brian (her hubby) comprised another team. But we worked together the whole time.  We got our clues and had to strategize.  Most of the time we were running to each clue, but we did utilize buses sometimes.  And Micah’s new iPhone came in quite handy to help us map out certain locales.  We had to document via pictures that we successfully completed each clue.  So you’ll see some of those in the pic collage I created for this event.

In the end: The first 25 teams qualified to compete in the Las Vegas race, but we didn’t make it.  Oh well, it was alot of fun and gave us a glimpse into how we might be if we were contestants on “The Amazing Race” show.

Grade: B+
