Turkey Day – leftovers…

This past Thanksgiving weekend was…busy! And it was a lot of fun.  As my previous post indicated, this year’s Thanksgiving consisted of: Micah, his mom – Sharon, his sister – Zoe, her boyfriend – Russ, my sis – Tera, and me.  Micah’s mom flew in from Hawaii, while Zoe and Russ flew up from L.A.  Here’s a quick rundown of our crazy weekend.

Thanksgiving day: Tera and I spent the morning cooking the food.  We made the most delicious turkey (thank you Oprah).  Once the rest of the crew arrived, we snacked, and then ate, and then played some Cranium and lots of Nintendo Wii.  We stayed up late…and debated about getting a $350 laptop Black Friday special.  We opted not.

Friday: Well, we slept in a little.  We ate leftovers for breakfast and finally got ready and out of the house at 11:30am.  On to Portland.  In Portland we went to an art gallery (Sharon’s friend has his pictures showing), then to a raw vegetable restaurant (tasty, but not awesome), and then shopping!!  Did some nice tax free damage at the Woodburn Outlet Malls.  Also, stopped by Costco so Russ could get a tax-free PS3.  Got home around 10:30 that night.  And still stayed up late.

Saturday: Ate more Thanksgiving leftovers for breakfast.  Played some cards while other slept in.  Finally left my sister’s house and headed to Seattle.  We ate yummy ramen at Samurai Noodle in the Intl’ District, did some sightseeing (e.g. Fremont Troll, space needle) and then drove to Redmond to the Mac & Jack Brewery.  The boys really liked that – lots of free beer samples.

Sunday: Went out to Snoqualmie Falls.  It was so foggy and misty that you could barely see them.  Afterwards, went to North Bend outlets for more shopping.  I managed to spend $0 there. Yay!  We had to drop Russ off at the airport later in the evening, followed by what else?  More shopping – but this time Nordstrom Rack, followed by a yummy Thai food dinner.  Went home and worked out! After all the crazy eating – I needed to do something good for my body.

Monday: Woke up at 4:45AM to drop Zoe off at the airport.  I let Micah sleep, since he had to go to work and I didn’t.  But I went right back to bed once I got home.  His mom was still here, so Tera, Sharon, and I hung out. We watched an awesome movie, Slumdog Millionaire.  It’s in limited release, so we were lucky it was playing in Bellevue.  I highly recommend.  It’s gotten rave reviews (a possible Oscar contender) and we all loved it.  We then met Micah in Seattle for some more shopping and then a late lunch at a yummy Pho restaurant.  Dropped his mom off at the airport…and now I am procrastinating.  I must pack for Mexico!  We leave tomorrow morning!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and ate plenty of yummy leftovers.
