Day 3: EPIK orientation (long and lecture-ious)

Our first really busy day – it was full of classroom lectures.  Four total…90 minutes each in semi-air conditioned rooms.

Fortunately, I felt that all four classes were really informative and useful.  We learned alot about what to expect in the classroom, lots of different activities and exercises to use with the students, tips on how to keep the students engaged, etc.  Plus, we touched on discipline techniques/issues.  Our main goal as teachers is to help raise our students’ English-speaking/reading/ writing confidence.

As a reminder: we won’t know until Thursday of this week where specifically we will be teaching and living within the city of Daegu.  Orientation ends this Friday morning and after, we will each get to meet our Korean co-teachers and the principals of the schools where we’ll be teaching.  Oh, and then school starts Monday.

I loved 300 pd beauty…it was funny and I laughed so much. It was a Hawaii International Film Festival. Our foreign movie teacher bought it right away and used as one of the films he shows to the class.
