I’m in love…with a donut

Glutinous rice donut.  Three beautiful…delicious words.  I consider this donut to be Korea’s most awesome contribution to the world of sweet and yummy things to eat.

Dunkin Donuts can be found all over Korea.  They really like their donuts.  You can also buy donuts in most bakeries here (which again, are on every corner).  But I’m partial to DD.

One day I strolled in to DD and noticed one particular type of donut was almost sold out.  I thought “I must try this donut!”  And the rest is history.  It’s the BEST donut I’ve ever eaten.  And yes, I do realize how strong of a statement that is.  This donut is unlike any other donut I’ve eaten – it’s chewy and doughy and has a delicious filling in the middle.  Unfortunately, it’s not available in the U.S. I already know it will be something I’ll miss about Korea when we move away.  In fact, I’m missing it right now.  Hmm…gotta go! 🙂
