I’m a 30 year old American citizen who is now back to living in the US after having spent just over a year living and working in South Korea as an English Teacher.  I am incredibly lucky to have a wonderful husband (Micah) who shared in this crazy adventure with me and puts up with my many hijinx(es).   Like many my age, I am learning how to balance the side of me that craves normalcy with the side that seeks out change and unique experiences.  This blog is an attempt to record how well I’m doing in achieving this balance.

You’ll find that I love: food, friends, football (a real ‘F’ theme coming through), and lots of stuff in between.  🙂  Enjoy!

I am currently teaching English to a Korean man here in the USA. I’ve been looking for reading material for our sessions, and I may have just found it! Thanks

Awesome 🙂 It’s hard to find that balance for sure, but I’m glad you aren’t stopping looking for it!

@Maaark: Thanks for reading! And good luck with your teaching. I have to do English training with the teachers here at my school and I usually find it harder to teach the adults than the kids!

I just wanted to introduce myself since I’ve been lurking for a little while now. My children are adopted from Korea and I’ve so enjoyed reading your posts about your adventure there. I’m learning things about my children’s culture and savoring every word. Thanks for sharing! This is one mom who really appreciates knowing more about where my children were born.

    Lisa,

Hi. I’m an American living in Daegu; I had been looking for vanilla extract for many months, so thank you for your posting about Sam Won–I found it there. It is such a wonderful treat.

    Thanks again,

    Mary
